| Overview
The impetus behind the founding of Dorbyl Heavy
Engineering back in 1946 was to provide a much-needed service to
the fast growing Heavy Engineering Industry in South Africa. Through
the continuous and constant expansion and development of new businesses
and new markets, new divisions were incorporated over the years
to form self-sustainable business units.
With the purchase of the Dorbyl Engineering Division
from Dorbyl Limited, these self-sustainable business units have
been incorporated into what is today the DCD-DORBYL Group of Companies.
As a black economic empowered company operating
both nationally and internationally under the direction of the majority
shareholder, namely a management consortium, the DCD-DORBYL Group
of Companies adheres to the highest quality and service standards,
whilst continuing to invest in its main asset, namely its people.
Objectives
The challenge facing DCD-DORBYL is to grow its
export markets exponentially, whilst continuing to participate in
the local markets and to increase its versatility through the development
