Established in 1903 in Durban it has
many years of experience in serving owners repair requirements on
the South African seaboard. Marine Cape Town's core business is
SHIP REPAIR and its operations are centred around its well equipped
yard in Cape Town. This is supplemented by joint venture operations
in East London.
Marine Cape Town's competent multi-national and
multi-racial work force is experienced in all types of marine work,
and is backed by thoroughly experienced supervisory staff. Ship
repair managers and technical management are available to meet with
owners requirements, and together with skilled artisans, teams are
formed to tackle the largest and most arduous work in the shipping
sphere. In order to fit in with a vessels itinerary, work is undertaken
at any time of the day or night, 365 days of the year. The company
complies with the requirements of Lloyds ISO 9001 quality standard
and adheres to international safety regulations.
The integration of the two yards allows Marine
Cape Town to service the whole of the South African coastline and
is enhanced by travelling repair squads who travel internationally
if required.
Marine Cape Town is one of three divisions that
form DCD-DORBYL, which has extensive manufacturing, contracting
and trading interests with an aim to meet selected engineering needs
in both South Africa and in International markets by providing a
quality service and a wide range of products.
The Company strives to earn the status of preferred
ship repairer in Southern Africa through successful projects been
delivered within budget and on time. Our vision is to expand our
services to the West Coast Oil Industry including offshore support
of vessels, barges, rigs, etc.
