Ringrollers produces mainline and industrial tyres. The company manufactures tyres for the local rail industry as well as rolling stock within the mining industry, industrial sector and the export market. Tyres are manufactured in accordance with customer requirements to international specifications.

Tyres are usually supplied as rolled and heat-treated and rough machined. The customer carries out the final machining. Material selection is in accordance with customer specifications.

Various grades of material are held in stock to satisfy any requirement. Typical specifications to which tyres
are rolled include: BS24 Part 2 Section 1 and 2; BS5892 Pt4; UIC 810 1963; ASTM A551 and ISO 1005-1.

Rail authorities using the tyres include: South African Railways, National Railways of Zimbabwe, New Zealand Railways, Taiwan Railway Authority, Indian Railways, Chile Railways, National Railways of Sudan, Sri-Lankan National Railways, Oslo Metro Authority and British Rail.

TRAM & METRO TYRES

Ringrollers has identified the need for quality tyres within this growing sector. The majority of tram tyres are supplied fully machined to a tight tolerance. Material selection is according to customer specification.

The company has expanded its offering to include the supply of rubber block for resilient wheels, giving customers access to a single source of supply. This complements the tram tyres.
